The GWRC is a network organisation with a small staff. Most of the activities are performed by staff of the GWRC members. The mission of GWRC is:
A governing board will oversee the GWRC. Each member organisation will have a seat on this governing board, providing equal and impartial input. Chair of the Board of Directors is Mike Farrimond (Executive Director of UKWIR), Wade Miller (Executive Director WRF) is the vice-chair and Frans L. Schulting is the Managing Director of the Global Water Research Coalition. The Global Water Research Coalition is affiliated to the International Water Association (IWA) and makes use of IWA expertise and support facilities. GWRC
